Will it be effective to correct the vision by Femto-excimer laser?
A refractive procedure conducted by femto-excimer laser is safe. 99% of patients have improved vision, while 96% have fully restored sight. There is almost no risk of blindness after the refractive surgery, and less than 1% of patients suffer from any complications developed as a result of surgery. In order to determine the efficacy of refractive surgery, a complete examination of the eye should be done, and the doctor should evaluate the general health condition of the patient, the thickness of the cornea, etc.

Is it possible to treat age-related vision impairment with laser surgery?
Age-related vision impairment - presbyopia, involves farsightedness due to decreased elasticity of the crystalline lens. In this case, the elasticity of the crystalline lens is not possible with laser surgery. However, presbyopia can be cured by other innovative treatment methods.
How comfortable is a laser correction procedure?
The procedure of vision correction by the laser is short and painless. The procedure lasts for a few seconds, and the patient does not feel any pain, as the eye pain is relieved before the procedure with special drops (topical anesthesia).
The patient may feel pressure during the procedure but not the pain. Also, the patient takes the sedative substances before the procedure, which simplifies the laser correction process.
When is it possible to conduct a laser correction procedure on the second eye?
In most cases, the procedure is conducted simultaneously on both eyes. It is also possible to cure the second eye in one week after the first procedure.
What kind of post-surgery surveillance will be required?
The post-procedure rehabilitation period is one month, during when patients apply eye drops. Patients will consult the doctor on the second day of the procedure and repeatedly several weeks after the procedure. The majority of patients are fully rehabilitated in a few days.
Is it necessary to stay in the hospital after the procedure?
Femto-excimer laser surgery belongs to the outpatient procedure. Thus no hospital stay is required. Eye correction procedure with Femto-excimer laser lasts only for a few minutes, and the patient returns home on the same day.
After the procedure when will be allowed to drive a vehicle?
The clear vision will be restored within two-three days after the procedure. However, the doctor individually gives the recommendation regarding the driving of the vehicle.
When will be the vision fully recovered?
The sight will be fully recovered in two to three weeks after the laser procedure.
What was the vision correction laser surgery conducted first?
The first photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) was conducted in 1987 and the first LASIK operation in 1990. Since then, the laser technologies have developed significantly, and in 1997 the Carl Zeiss Meditec presented Gaus laser scanning, and the first integrated topographically managed treatment method.
